Asus is one smartphone brand actively working to bring gaming smartphones to the global market. ROG releases new versions of its ROG Phone every year that offer improved specs and performance. Like last year, ASUS will introduce a gaming phone this year as well, the ASUS ROG Phone 6, which will launch tomorrow, July 5.
The ASUS ROG Phone 6 series will include the ROG Phone 6 and ROG Phone 6 Pro, which we will cover in this article. Some rumors suggest that the ROG Phone 6 Ultimate Edition will also be available. The specifications of the series have been revealed, however, it is not clear which model will include them. All ROG phones will likely have similar specs, with a few minor differences.
The ROG Phone 6 will have a 6.78-inch AMOLED display with Full-HD+ resolution and a 165Hz touch sampling rate. In comparison to its predecessor, the display has a refresh rate of 144Hz. It will have a narrow bezel design, though it will not have a notch or hole punch. Qualcomm Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 SoC will be paired with up to 18GB of LPDDR5 RAM and 512GB of UFS 3.1 storage.
It will come with a triple camera system on the back placed on a slightly modified camera island. Rumors also suggest that the device could come with a 1TB storage option. In addition to the main lens, it will also have an ultrawide angle lens and a macro lens. An optical image stabilization system (OIS) will be built into the main lens. Besides the 12MP selfie camera, there will be a 6000mAh battery with 65W fast charging support.
A USB Type-C port will be located at the bottom for charging. In addition, the device will have some kind of cooling system to dissipate heat. The AeroActive Cooler 6 will be one of these accessories. There will be an under-display fingerprint scanner for added security. Separately sold accessories will be available. A recent leak suggests the gaming phone will cost EUR799, but the company has not yet announced the price.
